A little about

Well let's see. First and foremost I am a husband and father of 3 awesome kids. I love music, art, classic designs and building things. I love things made of fine wood and metal including classic cars, old buildings, old tools and machines, longboard skateboards and of coarse....instruments. The art of luthier has brought all those things together in a very rewarding way.

After getting married and having kids, I didn't play music as much as I used to. A few years ago I bought my first Ukulele on a whim, and got back into playing music. Not long after that, the thought of actually building an instrument finally got the best of me, and I built my first Ukulele for my daughter. The seed had been planted and since then it's been all up hill (or downhill depending how you look at it)! I've continued to study the art of luthier, and anything I can get my hands on relating to stringed instrument building.

I have since branched out into building banjo and violin family instruments, as well as resonators and mandolins. I've also ventured into crafting some unusual instruments built "depression style" out of coffee cans, various tins and cigar boxes (both acoustic and electric). This journey has also included repairs and restorations of vintage and non-vintage stringed instruments.

I am currently a member of:

  • the Ukulele Guild of Hawaii

  • Guild of American Luthiers
